Fulton County’s Central Library is a 237,000-square-foot, 10-story library designed in the 1970s by the world-renowned architect Marcel Breuer. It was opened to the public in 1980. The library closed in 2018 for a three-year renovation.
To herald its reopening in 2021, FulcoLibrary commissioned a host of digital enhancements, from a Media Tower on the plaza to special library cards and bookmarks.
As a Graphic Designer, my role was to craft visually compelling assets that effectively communicated the diverse offerings of the Central Library to the Atlanta-Fulton community.
For print, I designed eye-catching flyers, posters, and brochures that not only informed the community about the reopening but also enticed them to explore the library’s extensive collection and participate in its various programs. These materials were strategically placed in high-traffic areas and distributed through targeted channels to maximize their reach.
In the digital realm, I developed engaging social media graphics, email newsletters, and digital banners that resonated with our audience and encouraged them to engage with the library online. This included creating visually appealing posts that showcased the library’s vibrant atmosphere, as well as designing interactive elements that facilitated online registration for events and workshops.
On the web front, I enhanced the user experience by creating visually appealing layouts, intuitive navigation, and responsive design elements. This ensured that visitors to the library’s website could easily find the information they needed, whether it was about the library’s history, upcoming events, or resources available to them.
